Holi – A festival of colours celebrated in the spring season on a full moon day in the month of March.
This festival is celebrated in India though in Tamilnadu it is celebrated only in the areas where North Indians dwell. The colours are sprinkled on others to show their enjoyment as to welcome the spring the much awaited season of the year. People add water to colours and fill in the sprinklers and play by splashing waters on others. Its quite difficult to escape from the colours to get stuck in the dress. It is a fun to enjoy the day and staying outdoors, playing pranks. Especially kids enjoy a lot as they love to play with water. And ballons filled with coloured water play an important source of enjoyment.
I still remember the special holi celebrated in my younger days when we were residing in Secunderabad. As a child, I was enthusiastic applying colours and sprinkling colour water on others which made me to forget the meal time and returned home in the late afternoon. Then I was greeted by my mom with spanks!!! Who could cajole if a kid keeps on playing right from morning 7 to 2pm without even stepping into home for water 😀 Interesting!!!
