Square Kolam

A small freehand kolam with a square at the centre to start with. I needed to wind up the kolam with three layers because of vehicles passing by. I couldn’t take a clear image of the kolam before the vehicle tyres made it’s impression… I started with straight lines but continued with semi-circles πŸ˜‰

Drawing straight lines make me cranky πŸ˜€ I shouldn’t say that, as drawing is a part of my Profession. Maybe I needed a drafter πŸ˜€ Drawing a circle in freestyle isn’t a challenge to me, vertical lines are the fire spitting dragons πŸ™‚ I am getting bored of repeating the same lines filling my kolams. I don’t plan for a freehand kolams as the first line or dot decides the genre of kolam. The same goes here. For sure freehand never ever gets imprinted as a raw version on paper, except two or three which, I have given a conceptual refinement.

This was drawn at my inlaw’s home. A small village just 5 kms away from Malaikottai. The mornings are always pleasant with the sounds of nature… The sprinkling of water on the entrance to draw kolams, the farm cattles’ chitter-chatter, the bell sound from the nearby Sivan temple… The chicken lethargically crows at 8am that should early morning to him πŸ˜€ Hope the evolution is still in process..As man no more needs a natural alarm to wake him up πŸ™‚
