Alpona/Alpana, its how kolam is named in Eastern India. A normal Alpona is done with rice flour mixed with water either drawn by brush or with finger tip. Alpona art has motifs especially a tear drop design and free style designs incorporated within it. I haven’t seen Alpona with a dot pattern, If any one differs with my presumption, Please enlighten me.
I have used chalk piece as the medium.
