“Fiery Orange colored kolam”
Officially the first sikku kolam in this site. Though I have uploaded, I wasn’t satisfied with the outcome, as I felt I have messed up while colouring. I should have taken some more time to colour this small kolam. I guess I was not ready to enhance this kolam and as usual landed upon on another idea. This kolam was done in 2010, but took 3 long years to be seen in the limelight.
There is something special about this kolam – the “COLOUR”. While returning back to my base I didn’t pack up colour powders as I needed to pack extra things for my little one who was an infant then. The list to carry for my little one was endless 🙂 Dedicated mother 🙂
So I ventured out with my adventurous journey of making colour powders on my own. That was 5 years ago 🙂 I bought some food colours and mixed with rice flour and tried to bring out the tones and shades of the colour playing with the mix ratio 🙂 . This bright orange colour I liked a lot and subsequently used in all kolams 🙂 Actually there are two shades of orange used, but its not prominently seen 🙁 But I try to create that shade 🙂
This is a 9-1 dot kolam placed in straight pattern. A simple kolam with less tangles.
