I had done this Kolam Photo Frames on 10th of September 2013 π (Exactly two years π ) Its been in hibernation for the last two years and I almost forgot this episode. . I was mining into my hard drive for some other reason and accidentally I happened to see this folder. A pleasant surprise for me π Still, I couldn’t recollect why I dumped these creations. Two years ago, I was organising my photo folder and some wanted to get printed as I wanted to create an album of my little one. When I was searching for some ready-to-use frames online, an idea sparked, why not in rangoli powders.. That made me to create four frames, the other one yet to stand under the limelight π
I have done two more designs in a plain white colour against black colour background. I need to sit down to compile into a collage, yet time has never permitted to slice my time from the routine. Wish I had more time to concentrate on my interests. Though I have many in the bucket list, yet to fulfill.. Hopefully, by the start of January I will be having more time, the start of next academic year, where my little princess will learn and spend her lot of time in the school π
When the idea struck, I was looking for a perfect base at home. Alas, nothing was available. And the only thing my eyes spotted was the a table calendar π The black hard paper became my base for the photo frame π
The first design, nothing special except experiment with the colours. I have used all the colours which I had then. I just placed a pinch of all colours and pressed with my index finger, for a round effect. Some colours used in the first image are self made colours, especially the light green shade. That was from my little one’s water colours π Mixed the colour with rice flour and dried in shade. As said earlier, I have experimented all types of coluring agents to create a colour powder π
The second image has three shades of blue in it. I tried my level best to differentiate the shades, but I feel the colours have a gradient effect instead of distinct boundaries. This blue shade frame will go well with the oceanic scene photos. Though I haven’t printed photos with these frames. I have another set with black and white theme which I shall upload in near future. The white and black combination always excels other colour combinations, Hope many may agree with me.
The last frame with a theme of Plumeria flower theme, though the flowers in the frame don’t even have a tint of the flower shapes, still I correlate to the colour scheme π
It was difficult to squeeze the strokes within a small area and needed a steady hand to execute. I don’t remember How much time it took to complete… Hope, not more than an hour as that’s the time slot I always have to execute kolams. Hopefully to execute more kolam in future π
I will try to update this post as soon as possible with other set of kolam photo frames π
