A sikku kolam done in white only 🙂 I liked this design for its side tangles. An unique to say.. I didn’t do any modifications to the original version, which I always do. In this kolam, I just joined two left over dots with a loop. I don’t like any dots to be left from the kolam, so I do my level best to join with the kolam or create a design on my own. I didn’t add colours as I felt white did has its own magical power to enhance the display 🙂 I like to keep the kolams plain just with white.
This kolam has a dot count of 15 reduced to 1 on either side. After drawing the kolam, the next process, enhancement. I kept the extensions simple as not to overplay the main kolam. Drew a big minarets on the corners and swirls on the sides. I added some dots, lines and shaded the minarets. I was satisfied with the outcome.
I have done some kolams with the 4 dots which is seen in the bottom. This small kolam can be extended or inserted in any kolams. I will add my own creations later where I have used this 4 dots small sikku kolam as the base design and extended to a big kolam. One such kolam is in this link
