Blue :-)

A small sikku kolam done during my June vacation. Again from my mother’s notebook collection. With slight modification done here and there, I created a new design, not a new though, the design formation highlighted in blue is my addition. I like to create sikku designs, but I need to sit down and spend some time, but now a days I just modify the kolams in my mom’s collection and move on.. I do have some creations of mine in my notebook, will try to draw sometime later.. I had created 5 dots sikku kolams, when I was working in Chennai as the main entrance was bit small.. I had a collection of small kolams to draw on that ramp. I need to search the copy of those kolams in some other notebooks. I lost many such notebooks while relocating. My cook books, recipe notebooks all got vanished.. I can’t blame anyone as I should have personally packed it.. And those items got shifted three times from the original location and can’t searching is indefinite process.

In this kolam, I liked the small ribbon like knots at the sides. I highlighted those designs with colours and formed a matching border on the sides.. I don’t like to leave a dot unattended in a sikku kolam. I form a loop or draw a small circle around the left over dots.
I liked the shade of the blue, but somehow missed to bring along with me… The colour looks bright and pleasing. Hope the colour takes the credit of the kolam in enhancement factor…

This is a 17 dots kolam in the centre column and decreased by two dots till the dot count reaches to one on either side. This has a single strand running throughout the kolam and creating a design with its unique twists and turns.
The matching border was on the spot decision to add on the sides as I said earlier, the knot/flower impressed me a lot 🙂
