One of my creations with own design. I like to extend small sikku kolams into a bigger dot count kolams. And this is one such. I have used wet rice paste to draw the kolam. I like to use the yellow and red combination as this happens to my favourite colour combo and it reminds me of Shanthamma Aunty. She adores her muggulu with turmeric and vermilion at the centre. And the bottom of the main door frame she used to apply turmeric paste and vermilion dots placed at equal spacing along with cone shaped cow dung ganesha. She draws muggulu only on Sankranthi and Ugadi. As a small kid, I used to stand nearby and look with amazement.

The colours used are self made, the yellow from turmeric and red colour by mixing liquid food colour with rice flour.
I extended the base design with 4×4 dot count seen on the top of the image into 9×9 sikku kolam. I have linked all the dots in the kolam as I don’t like to leave a dot aloof from the main kolam. I always make sure to have all dots linked and gets along with the kolam. I make my level best that all dots are utilised in making of the kolam
